Garick grew up in Maryland and is a graduate of Ithaca College in New York. He joined the News 5 Team in 1990 after working for two years as a reporter/anchor for KCAU-TV in Sioux City, Iowa. Garick has anchored at 5:30 and at 11pm since 1992. Garick believes in giving back to the community, and does so through church and community organizations. He has delivered meals with the homebound meals program, and has also tutored students at the Patricia Freeman Literacy Academy. In addition, Garick has served on the Board of Directors for the Bristol Regional Speech and Hearing Center.
